VibeAgent changes its name to hotelicopter
A company, after being in news for its “flying-hotel joke”, has launched a new brand for its hotel search engine, hotelicopter.
hotelicopter, which was previously known as VibeAgent, searches 30 travel sites in real-time, aggregating hotel room rates, availability, photos and video to instantly reveal where to find the best hotel deals. It has access to more than 65 travel partners and 150,000 hotels.
hotelicopter’s co-founder and CEO Adam Healey said the search engine’s comparison pricing model “gives travellers confidence they’re getting the best possible deal without all that time-consuming research – like having your own personal travel assistant.”
The company has worked on several features including integration with Facebook Connect. Users can create a personal account on hotelicopter and link to their Facebook profile by simply entering their Facebook credentials. This allows the search engine to provide social media features so travelers can leverage their own social networks for hotel recommendations and travel deals.
The site features a location filter that lets users narrow down their search by neighbourhood or city block Its price, category, and amenity filters work in real-time. It has also integrated hotel ratings, reviews, photos and videos from several partners including TripAdvisor.
Founded in 2006, hotelicopter is based in Charlottesville, Virginia.
