EyeforTravel’s The School of Mobile initiative gets bigger and stronger

EyeforTravel has announced new partnerships with The Sound of Data, Netbiscuits and Ambisense for its `The School of Mobile’ initiative.

The School of Mobile is an initiative introduced by EyeforTravel Research to educate the travel and tourism industry about the integration of mobile technology into distribution strategies and the use of mobile travel applications.  

The mobile market has experienced substantial growth over the past 10 years and continues to witness an upward trend. The global market reached about 3.5 billion users in 2008 and is projected to continue to grow to reach 4.6 billion by 2011, with a CAGR of 9.4% (source: ITU; Portio Research). 

“Mobile technology has evolved to the point where many of the functions supporting online travel are now literally available in the palm of your hand,” said Amy Scarth, Head of Research at EyeforTravel. 

She added, “Although the potential reach via mobile phones has sparked enormous interest in the travel industry, the industry is still exploring options and busy figuring out how to really move things forward.” 

This cooperation will help in facilitation of fresh industry research, available free of charge, to travel suppliers and intermediaries. Also, there will be a dedicated conference on Mobile in Travel that will be located within the Travel Distribution Summit Europe 2009.

The Mobile Zone @ EyeforTravel's Travel Distribution Summit Europe 2009 

As part of its`The School of Mobile' initiative, EyeforTravel will conduct interactive seminars on Mobile in Travel in the Mobile Zone located within the Travel Distribution Summit Europe exhibition area.


The Summit will take place on May 19 and 20 in London this year.
