Roomorama.com launches version 2.0
Roomorama has launched a new look and enhancements with an expansion to Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Vancouver and Washington D.C.
The site, which offers savings on short-term accommodations, adding the cultural advantage of living amongst a city's locals, is already servicing Boston, Chicago, New York and Toronto. It plans to continue to expand its service in the US and select international cities including London in early 2009.
The new and improved Roomorama.com features tips on using the site and improved communication channels amongst prospective guests and hosts. A "To-Do" list highlights all the important tasks for users to run through when logging on. An enhanced calendar and greater pricing flexibility bring ease to selecting dates and locations. And the "Shoutouts" feature, which allows users to post an immediate need for housing to the Roomorama.com community, has been improved to quicken the host/guest matching process.
"The short-stay rental concept is spreading like wildfire amongst travellers who don't want to blow their budgets on lodging," stated the company.
"Our new website design and ongoing expansion into major cities will work to cultivate a true international community of guests and hosts."
Guests can search rental listings, or post a "shoutout" on the homepage to hear directly from hosts. Meanwhile, hosts can create a profile with room details and available dates, then wait for inquiries to roll in or respond to "shoutouts". Rental rates are determined by the host at a fixed nightly rate and a small transaction fee is charged to guests only when booking.
