Baidu still dominates China search engine market
China search engine market size (excluding the revenue from channel) has reached RMB 946.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2007, up 15% over the previous quarter, and 99% year on year.
According to Analysys International's China Search Engine Market Quarterly Tracker Q4 2007, China search engine market was dominated concentratedly by Baidu, Google and Yahoo China, with market share of 95.6% from last quarter's 94.6%.
From the revenue perspective, Baidu led the market with 60.1%, approximate with last quarter's 60.5%. It cooperated with Firefox for insert search engine and Ctrip for hotel search and will launch its C2C business platform in 2008 to promote its business.
Google followed Baidu with 25.9%, increasing 2.2% from previous quarter. It officially launched the mobile short message search and video search, and its ad agency channels have reached 24.
