Reader's feedback: "Southwest Airlines' last-minute fares not always the best deal"

Unfortunately, Southwest's answer to Orbitz and the other consolidators of
unsold airline seats have been left out. The "Ding" product by Southwest
Airlines offers the same type of discounts that are on those other websites.
As the largest domestic airline in the US, Southwest offers the best counter
walk-up fares available in their markets.  No one beats them!  Southwest
doesn't offer bereavement fares because their lowest walk-up to the counter
fares are still substantially lower than the other airline's bereavement fares.
If the Prof. wants to use the word "exploit" to describe Southwest's fare
structure, then he should also use words like "caring, understanding and
magnanimous" to describe Southwest and bereavement fares.  Talk about emotional
exploitation by the other carriers.

Just the facts!
