Predicting Asian travel in 2007

Staying ahead of travel trends and on pace with the technological travel revolution is becoming extremely complicated. There are infinitely more products available to modern travel companies for supposed “business development” than ever before. What’s more, this number is expected to grow incrementally for the foreseeable future, with each product apparently “guaranteeing” business success.

With so many different travel technology companies claiming to be the best and only product that suppliers will need, making a decision on which one to choose grows in difficulty each year. Almost every travel discipline can now be made easier or more cost effective by using role specific technologies.

But when should companies take the plunge and equip themselves with the “latest” technology to grow their business? Furthermore, how long will the chosen piece of technology they purchase remain up to date? When will it require upgrading and what are going to be the expenses involved in doing so? And perhaps most importantly, will this newly purchased product still be useful two years from now?

Understanding the growth and direction of Asia-Pacific travel is an essential part of technology purchasing decisions, and is subsequently growing in its complexity. Therefore travel forecasting and future predictions for Asian travel will feature this year at the Travel Distribution Summit Asia.

Key Asia-Pacific travel associations are converging at this annual summit, to share their views on the current state of the industry, and predict what they believe the future holds for Asian travel suppliers.

Some of the associations featured at this year’s event include PATA, ACTE, Euromonitor International and ASEANTA. In addition you can hear from a whole host of travel consultancies and companies offering a wealth of travel knowledge and industry case studies.

This series of free seminars and workshops will run alongside the main EyeforTravel summit, which features in-depth discussion provided by top APAC travel executives, from companies including, Expedia, Abacus, Hilton, Singapore Airlines and Virgin Blue.

Travel Distribution Summit Asia 2007 is at the Suntec Convention Centre Singapore, March 13th and 14th.
