US Airways chief executive reportedly approached Delta’s Grinstein for a possible merger
US Airways Group Inc.’s chief executive officer Doug Parker had spoken earlier this summer to his counterpart at Delta Air Lines about the possibility of merging the two companies, The Wall Street Journal online reported, citing people familiar with the situation.

US Airways Group continues to exemplify merger benefits
Reporting a turnaround in its operations, the new US Airways Group, Inc. has reported a second quarter 2006 profit of $305 million or $3.25 per diluted share. This compares to a net loss of $3 million or $0.20 per diluted share for the same period last year.

eLong achieves record results in 2Q, growth across all of its booking services
eLong has shared that its travel revenues increased 57 percent year-over-year and 26 percent sequentially to US$8.1 million, and total revenues improved 55 percent year-over-year and 26 percent sequentially to US$8.9 million as it shared its second quarter results.

Which OTA gets maximum click-throughs from sponsored ads?
More than 50 percent of the total click-throughs to online travel sites - Expedia.com, Orbitz.com, Travelocity.com and CheapTickets.com are generated by sponsored ads, compared to just 11 percent across all web search activity, according to the latest analysis by comScore Media Metrix. The company shared findings as it introduced Competitive Search Marketing Reports to compare the effectiveness of their online search campaigns to campaigns run by competitors.
