SideStep introduces Travel Guides, appoints John Robison as SVP - Engineering
Travel search engine SideStep has launched its newest travel tool SideStep Travel Guides, termed as “the perfect resource to help plan any itinerary”.
According to the company, the new tool “give travelers easy access to detailed information on hundreds of the world’s most popular destinations. Users can find recommendations on everything from attractions, hotels, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife to shopping, sports, art and architecture”.
SideStep says the Travel Guides are a perfect compliment to the recently launched Activities Tab, where consumers can utilise SideStep’s patent pending search technology to select from a wide variety of activities that interest them in one single search, eliminating the need to navigate multiple ticketing and attraction websites.
In another development, the company has appointed John Robison as senior vice president - Engineering. Robison will be responsible for managing SideStep’s engineering team and driving the company’s technology strategy.
Prior to joining SideStep, Robison spent 10 years at Yahoo! Most recently, Robison served as vice president and general manager of Premium Services Infrastructure, playing an integral role in the development and support of Yahoo!’s technology and business infrastructure. Additionally, he led engineering efforts supporting Yahoo!’s Platform Engineering and Access Partnerships, with a strategic focus on membership, personalization, premium services and application security.
