VisitBritain opts for TRAVELfusion to power the flight search engine on its website
In an effort to help international travelers to source and book flights when planning their trips to Britain, VisitBritain has chosen TRAVELfusion to power the flight search engine on its website – www.visitbritain.com.
Kenny Boyle, VisitBritain’s director of commercial and marketing services, said: “Our new flights engine is another element of VisitBritain’s online and CRM strategies to remain ahead of our competitors around the globe. We’re pleased that TRAVELfusion will be helping us to further enhance our reputation as a national tourist organisation at the leading edge of marketing.”
The flight search engine offers web users access to over 500 airlines sourced through multiple web sites including major scheduled carriers, low cost airlines and leading online travel agents, according to the company. Search results not only show details of the airline, flight times but also the ticket cost in the local currency. Once users have chosen their preferred flight, they simply click on the operator’s icon and are automatically linked to the airline website to make the booking.
Moshe Rafiah, chief executive officer, TRAVELfusion, said, “The creation of this search engine is a major initiative when you consider that air travel is a key component for most international visitors to the UK. We have a large number of potential users with VisitBritain looking to attract 25 million visitors to the site during 2006. We see this as a great new model for tourist organisations and web applications looking to enhance their services by adding powerful travel content with an intelligent search engine.”
