ITP and EventBidder agree upon global co-operation

Scandinavian travel portal EventBidder.com and ITP, an independent alliance made up of selected travel agents, have entered into global co-operation for business group and meeting’s travel.

Via ITP, EventBidder.com will be launched to more than 10,000 ITP preferred hotels as well as to ITP’s travel agent members globally.

As per an official statement, ITP will promote and sell the EventBidder.com service to their alliance members globally as well as their 10,000 preferred member hotels in over 180 countries around the world. Eventbidder.com will allow ITP travel agents to send business group and meeting requests to hotels globally and in real-time.

Under the terms of this co-operation, EventBidder.com will offer exclusive subscription terms to both ITP member hotels and ITP’s agency members.

Virginia Palla, director of operations, ITP said: “Through this agreement we will now be able to offer an effective communications and buying platform which meets the needs of both our agency members and their clients who organise group and meetings business travel. This co-operation also adds value to our preferred member hotels’ around the world and our agents’ ITP membership by offering the hotels a significant discount of the EventBidder.com subscription fee and by allowing our agent members access to manage their group and meeting requests in the most cost and time efficient way. We see EventBidder.com as an industry first and a very unique web product within the travel industry today.”

Mikkel Madsen, managing director, EventBidder said the company currently operates EventBidder.com in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the United Kingdom and will now move rapidly to providing these services globally through this co-operation with ITP.

“In less than one year on the market, we have proven that EventBidder.com does offer genuine value to hotels, travel agents and corporate clients, both in terms of time and cost savings,” said Madsen.

On EventBidder.com hotels pay a fixed annual subscription fee and the travel agents send their requests for free – EventBidder.com charges no other transaction fees or commissions. Travel agents can in addition choose to buy a personalized web portal solution, by which the agent’s corporate clients can access EventBidder.com from the agent’s own web site.

EventBidder.com was first launched in Scandinavia in May 2005 and is currently owned by the Danish company EventBidder A/S.
