Thompson Hotels upgrades its web offerings
Thompson Hotels has capitalised on the joint strengths of the two companies by selecting Pegasus’ newly launched web services by Open Hospitality.
The deal will deploy Open’s web technology for the 60 Thompson property in New York, the Sagamore in Miami and the Hollywood Roosevelt in Los Angeles.
According to an official statement, the hotels will continue to use the Pegasus Utell platform to manage their web rates but due to a recently announced partnership and successful technology integration, Thompson will now have the added benefit of Open Hospitality’s customizable web services, most notably a front end booking engine that is consistent with the overall web re-branding that is currently underway for the portfolio.
David Millili, Open’s chief executive officer and co-founder said that Thompson Hotels has taken advantage of Utell’s new bundled services provided by Open Hospitality and has, in effect, gained an entire web marketing department at no additional cost and without having to retain this type of staff on site.
“This group is the ideal example of how this new partnership is geared to operate. Open and Pegasus assume the majority of the workload on behalf of the property, exactly what hotels should expect from their technology service providers,” said Millili.
In August this year, Pegasus Solutions and Open Hospitality had announced an agreement to include a newly integrated version of Open’s interactive Web services in Pegasus' suite of service offerings to hotels. As per the plans, Open's Internet booking engine and services for Web site management, e-mail marketing and search engine optimisation was to be integrated into Pegasus' reservation and representation services to create new solutions. The services include distribution tools and marketing processes that are unique in the hospitality technology marketplace.
