Datalex drives newly relaunched LasVegas.com
LAS VEGAS -- The Datalex next-generation Internet booking engine technology has been deployed at the re-launched LasVegas.com portal, where it enables destination-based travel enterprises to market their services more profitably. Using Datalex's latest technologies visitors, can book hotel accommodations, air and car transportation.
For the first time, the Datalex system facilitates complex searches of everything Las Vegas has to offer, using enriched information and image resources on hotels and room configurations, and enables bookings to be made at a wide variety of shows and entertainment throughout Las Vegas.
LasVegas.com serves the city's many visitors while representing the local people and businesses that make up Las Vegas itself. LasVegas.com is a partnership of Mandalay Resort Group and Park Place Entertainment, owners and operators of Las Vegas hotel and resort rooms, casinos, restaurants, shops and a collection of the destination's signature attractions and shows.
The portal provides extensive information on visiting the city including guides, news, photographs and hotel and show descriptions. It enables the city-based partnership to offer visitors the convenience of one-stop shopping and information for all the major travel components through a single dedicated site, without the time consuming effort of researching and booking across multiple suppliers' Web sites.
"No place in the world operates like Las Vegas," said Erick Rodriguez, president of LasVegas.com. "We needed a technology approach as grand as Las Vegas itself. We turned to Datalex to deliver a product the size and scope of the world's most popular leisure destination, and to work seamlessly with our other technology vendors to make LasVegas.com a reality."
The Datalex solution is based upon its latest Web Services-based booking engine technology, designed to enable destination sites to provide multi-component travel packages, informational content, search and recommendation capabilities and distribution via the Internet. The system hardware and software is hosted by Datalex Managed Services at its Atlanta facility.
"Datalex once again is proud to be associated with a world-class partner in this latest deployment of our next-generation booking engine platform at a destination resort site," said Datalex CEO Neil Beck. "Our technology makes it possible for organizations like this to merchandise their attractions, facilities and destination brand while offering a complete travel service, using the powerful search and booking capabilities expected of a top booking site. Cost effective and efficient for the supplier; cost-effective and efficient for the consumer. This is what the Internet was always supposed to be about."
